YouTube TV Announces Price Hike for 2025
YouTube TV has announced that it will increase its monthly subscription price by $10, from $72.99 to $82.99, effective January 13, 2025. The streaming television service cited rising content costs and ongoing investments in service quality as the reasons for the hike. This comes after earlier this week, they clarified that reports of a price increase were merely an advertising error.

In a message to subscribers, the YouTube TV team acknowledged the impact the price change will have on its members, stating, “We don’t make these decisions lightly, and we understand this affects our members.”
Despite the price increase, YouTube TV emphasized its commitment to providing valuable features like unlimited DVR storage and multiview, as well as a wide selection of live channels and an extensive on-demand library of movies and shows.
The new pricing will take effect with the first billing cycle starting on or after January 13, 2025. Subscribers currently on a trial or promotional pricing plan won’t be affected until their promotional period ends.
YouTube TV reassured users that they can view their current plan details in the settings menu and reiterated their ability to pause or cancel subscriptions at any time. The company also directed users to their Help Center for more information.
“With many exciting shows and live events ahead in the new year, we’ll continue to strive to deliver the best of TV, all in one place,” the YouTube TV team concluded in their message.
This price increase marks the latest in a series of adjustments within the streaming television landscape, as providers grapple with increasing content acquisition costs and competition. It remains to be seen how subscribers will react to the change and whether it will impact YouTube TV’s market share.
