On October 5th, 2011, around 7:55 p.m. Eastern Time, the world found out that a man, by the name of Steven P. Jobs, had past away at his California home.
Steve Jobs formed Apple Computer on April 1st, 1976 with his college friends Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne. The three guys started a new revolution that would forever change the world – the creation of the personal computer.
From 1976 to 1998, the company had seen its ups and downs, including the ousting of its co-founder in 1985, only to return to CEO in the late 1990’s, where he single handedly turned a once shuttered company in to the most beloved company in the world. He also made the Mac more accessible to Windows users by dumping the once famous IBM made G4 processor and switch the product line to Intel chips. It is now easier for all operating system users to run the operating system of their choice because of this change.
From the first iPod in 2001, to the iPhone in 2007, to the iPad 1 in 2010 then to the iPad 2 in 2011, Steve Jobs has brought a once “geeky” profession in to the home, educational system, and business industry.
Jobs died a day after the company announced a new update to the iPhone product line, the iPhone 4S (which I will write about in a later article).
I, for one, will be forever grateful for what Steve Jobs has done. For without him, this person with a disability would not have a voice, or a profession, or a reason to get up in the morning.
Steve, you will be missed.
Sincerely,
Dan Uff
