Star Trek: Discovery is set 10 years before the original Trek
At the annual Television Critics Association press tour, Star Trek’s head Bryan Fuller took to the stage to spill the beans about the upcoming Star Trek TV show, which is scheduled to start on CBS before going to its All Access Internet feature in January.

Fuller said that Star Trek: Discovery will be set 10 years before the original series and will be set in the prime universe. The producer also said that the uniforms and sets will look closer to what fans saw in Star Trek: Enterprise. Filming is set to begin this October.
Each episode will feel like a chapter to a book, and there will be 13 episodes during its first year.
