If you’re short on cash, but already have an iPad and want to get an additional keyboard and mouse for it, and do not want to spend over $150.00 for the Smart Keyboard and an external Mouse, there is a way to use 3rd party accessories with the device, if you know how to pair the hardware together via Bluetooth. It’s usually simple and straight forward.

Here’s how:

  • Make sure that the iPad, keyboard, and mouse are turned “ON”.
  • Go to SettingsBluetooth.
  • Make sure that your Bluetooth setting is turned ON.
  • Under that, you should see a list of available hardware you can pair with a button that says [Connect].
  • Tap each button to pair the hardware.
  • Depending on the type of hardware, it may ask you to enter a special ID number.
  • This ID ensures that the hardware is only assigned to that device.
  • Repeat the steps to pair each hardware you want.
  • That’s it.
