Fast forward to October, 2016. Microsoft has quietly pulled all remaining stock of the device on its website and also pulled the devices SDK from its MSDN Developer’s web site.
Publication ZDNet received an official statement from Microsoft about the matter. The statement says:
“We have sold through our existing Band 2 inventory and have no plans to release another Band device this year. We remain committed to supporting our Microsoft Band 2 customers through Microsoft Stores and our customer support channels and will continue to invest in the Microsoft Health platform, which is open to all hardware and apps partners across Windows, iOS, and Android devices.”
The device received poor hardware and price reviews ever since the band was introduced. The company even tried to revive sales by giving deals for those persons who traded in an Apple Watch.
