Most of the time, the WiFi single that is received by your Mac is fine.  But sometimes it can get flakey and unreliable, which is what had happened to me the other evening.

After troubleshooting the actual Mac, I then found out that it could be my router.  No matter which Router you may have, it can loose its single from time to time.  So, before going out and spending $300.00 plus for a new one, try

  • Reset the Router: To see if that helps.  If you have WiFi extenders, make sure that those go back online after the main router comes back online.
  • Reset your Mac:  Try rebooting your Mac, as the single could get interfered with various environmental things in the air.
  • Can you see other Macs?: Check the Finder and see if it can detect other Macs or Windows on the network.
  • Completely shut downShut everything down, unplug everything, wait 30 seconds, and then plug everything in again, then try again.
  • Call Apple: 1-800- MY-APPLE.’

Hopefully, you don’t have to do the 5th option.  Good luck!
