Unlike a Graphic User Interface, one has to physically type what command(s) the person wants executed. Sometimes the commands are long.  Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a way to retype a command without actually retyping it?

You can, and here’s how.

  1. Go in to the Terminal (Finder > Applications > Utilities > Terminal).
  2. Type in a Terminal Command (for example, time).
  3. At the prompt, press the UP ARROW key.
  4. This will show the last command(s) you’ve typed into the Terminal.
  5. That’s it.
