One of the advantages of sharing files using iCloud is, you’re sending the other person a LINK to the file, so they can download it themselves as long as they have the proper access.

Sharing iCloud files can easily be done using the Files App for iOS.  The icon looks like a blue folder.

Here’s how:

  • Open the Files App from the device’s Home Screen.
  • Tap on the iCloud Drive option.
  • Tap on any folder to view the file(s) inside of it.
  • To share a file, long press on it until a drop down menu appears.
  • Tap Share.
  • Another window will appear.  Select the Add People option.
  • Add the people you wish to share this file with.
  • Select the type of Share options you want for this file.
  • That’s it.

The people that you selected will get an email inviting them to share the file, and a special link to that file.  You can do this with almost any file you have on the device.
