We all know how to resize an image using the Preview app. But what if you could automate this process using a Quick Action? I’ll show you how to create an Automator app to do just that.
Herr we go:
- Find and then open Automator (Finder – Applications).
- Click New Document.
- Select Quick Action.
- Click Files and Folders.
- Find and then drag Get Specific Finder Items to the right.
- Click Workflow receive current drop down.
- Select Image Files from the menu.
- Click Photos in the action side bar.
- Select Scale Images to the workflow area.
- Automator will prompt you to add a Copy Finder Items Action to save the original files in a separate folder. We’re sticking to a simple workflow of resizing images here, so we click Don’t Add.
- In the Scale Image area, type in the dimensions that you want the image to be.
- Save your new Quick Action (File – Save) and name it “Resize Image” then click Save.
- That’s it.
Now how do you USE the Quick Action? Right click on the image you want to resize then select Quick Actions > Resize Image.
