How to update your iOS device to iOS 17 on or after September 18, 2023

Even though its a few days away (and did not do the Beta) some users are wondering how to update their devices to iOS 17 when its officially released on 9/18.

Here’s how:

1. From the device’s main screen, select SETTINGS.
2. Then select GENERAL and then SOFTWARE UPDATE.
3. It will then search for the iOS 17 update.
4. You’ll then have a choice to update immediately or during the overnight hours.
5. That’s it. 

The update can take anywhere from 30 – 60 minutes.  Do not interrupt the process once it begins.
