How to show your iPad’s screen on a TV using Apple TV and Airplay
Airplay is a unique way to show your iPad’s screen on a television or other comparable devices. It’s simple to setup and use.

In order for this to work, you’ll have to have the following:
- An iPad with iOS 13 or later.
- Apple TV, Google Chrome, Roku, or another compatible device.
You must have the TV and the compatible device on. For this how to, we’ll be using an Apple TV. But the directions should be almost the same for other devices.
Here’s what to do:
- Make sure your iPad, Apple TV, and TV are ON.
- Make sure the Apple TV menu is showing on your TV.
- Activate the iPad and go to the Home Screen.
- Pull down Command Center from the top-right of the screen.
- Look for the button that says “Screen Mirroring” or the AirPlay icon (see featured image included with this article).
- Tap it.
- If this is the first time you’re doing this, an special 4 digit code will show on the TV.
- Type the code into your iPad when asked.
- After a few seconds, your iPad’s screen should be showing on your TV.
- If not, shut everything off, wait 30 seconds, then repeat the above steps.
- To disable Airplay and go back to normal Apple TV viewing, do steps #4 and #5.
