Sometimes, for security reasons, you may want your Mac to automatically log out of your area and return to the log-in screen.  This is possible with a Mac.

Just do the following:

  1. On your Mac, select  > System Settings.
  2. Then choose Privacy & Security.
  3. Click Advanced at the bottom.
  4. Turn on “Log out automatically after inactivity.”
  5. Click the “Log out after” pop-up menu, then choose the amount of time before the user is automatically logged out.
  6. That’s it.

How to log back in:

  1. Activate the screen with your Mouse or keyboard.
  2. Click on your icon or enter your name.
  3. Enter your password.
  4. That’s it.
