Fortunately, Apple has a way for you to tell an iPhone to erase itself after so many login attempts.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to Settings > Face ID & Passcode.
  2. You’ll be prompted to enter your passcode.  Do it now.
  3. Scroll down until you find the “Erase Data” option.
  4. Flip it ON.
  5. The iPhone will prompt you to ensure that’s what you want.
  6. That’s it!

Your iPhone will auto-delete itself after 10 failed login attempts.

Bonus Tip:

If you’re a member of iCloud, you can remotely wipe your iPhone by going into the Find My option.
