Most of the time, the Finder on Mac “just works”.  But sometimes, you may have to relaunch it for one reason or another.  There are two ways to accomplish this.

Option #1 – In MacOS:

  1. Put your Mouse on the Finder icon.
  2. Right-click it.
  3. Select RELAUNCH.
  4. The Desktop will blink. The Finder is now reset.
  5. That’s it.

Option #2 – Via Terminal:

  1. Open Terminal.
  2. At the prompt, type: killall Finder
  3. The Desktop will blink. The Finder is now reset.
  4. Close Terminal.
  5. That’s it.
