Ever since Macs were invented, a familiar chime was apart of the boot up process. Love it or hate it, some Mac users want to see it back. Well, here’s how to re-enable the familiar boot up chime.

1. Open Terminal either though Spotlight, Launchpad, or the utilities folder.

2. At the command prompt, enter the following:

sudo nvram StartupMute=%00

3. Enter the Admin password when prompted to do so.

4. To confirm its working, restart your Mac.

5. That’s it.
