How to: Profit from your old iPhone to get a new one
I don’t usually write how tos on how to sell your old iPhone in prep for a new one for the simple reason there are so many options available that I think our readers would be smart enough to know where to go. But, since this is a slow news week, I thought I’d create such an article anyway.

Now that Apple is all but verified that they will be putting out a new iPhone this Fall, I bet you’re thinking how to get $$$ for it? Sure, you can work your butt off trying to get the bucks, or you can do what I do – sell your old iPhone for the new one.
While selling it on eBay is a viable option, that can take time. With millions of people trying to sell their old iPhone on there you have a very limited chance on someone seeing yours, let alone someone placing a bid on it. Then you’d have to wait (and hope) that the buyer pays you in a decent amount of time, then you have to get a shipping box, pay for the shipping, bla, bla, bla.
…OR…
You can go to a recycler’s web site. These web sites take your old iPhone and have it recycled – for free. Here’s how it works. Let’s say you go to a recycler’s web site such as Gazelle.com, and tell the web site about your old iPhone – such as the condition, if it has any accessories, etc. Then in a few seconds, a list of companies come up who are willing to pay you an amount for that iPhone. Once you’ve selected a company, and inputted your mailing address and other information, they send you a pre-paid envelope for you to send your old iPhone back. Once they received it, they send you a check for the value amount for the device.
I have done the above 3-4 times, and got paid each time. The money you’ll get for the device is based in its current value. Sometimes it may be $0.00, sometimes it may be $35.00 or more.
At the time of this writing, my 64GB, AT&T iPhone could fetch me a good $320.00. That would be enough money to go towards a newer one or go towards my bills.
