How to obtain your IP Address in Windows 11 via the Command Line

Sometimes, your System Administrator may ask you for your computer’s IP Address from the Windows Command Line.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Windows start button in the lower left.
  2. Right-click it and select Windows Terminal from the list.
  3. When given the choice between PowerShell or command prompt, choose command prompt.
  4. Type ipconfig and press Enter.
  5. Review the display.
  6. That’s it.
