Sure, you can go to   > About This Mac for that information.  But what if you’re in the Terminal and need that information in a hurry?

No problem.  At the command prompt, issue the command:

system_profiler SPSoftwareDataType SPHardwareDataType

That will show you all of the hardware information about your Mac.
