Python is a popular programming language that’s widely used all over the world. Its easy to learn syntax makes it the first language to learn for any new programmer.

It’s not installed by default starting with MacOS Catalina or Windows 10/11.  This tutorial will show you how to download and install Python on Mac.

To install and run Python on Mac, follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://www.python.org/downloads/
  2. The website will usually detect what operating system you’re using.
  3. Click the download button that’s at the top of the page.
  4. Wait until the .DMG file downloads in to your Download Folder.
  5. Once that’s done, go into the Download folder.
  6. Double click on the DMG file to begin the installation.
  7. It’ll ask you some installation questions.  Just follow the screens.
  8. When the installation is finished, the IDLE app is in the /Applications/ folder in the Finder.
  9. That’s it.

If you’re new to Python, there are some very good Kindle Books on Amazon.com.
