How to “Install” Python on an iPad (yes, an iPad!) | CompuScoop.com

There’s seem to be a question going around on the Internet on if the Apple iPad could be used for programming. Well, I hope this article can finally put that question to rest by showing how to download, install, and USE Python on the iPad.

Because of the iPad’s ecosystem, all apps have to come from the iOS app store (unless you’re in the EU).

There are many iPad apps that will let you install and use Python on an iPad.  I am going to recommend three such apps.

  1. Pythonista: This app is a full-fledged Python coder and compiler. It’s easy to use and understand.
  2. The Python Editor App: Install, compile, and run Python apps.
  3. Pyto: Install, compile, and run Python programs.
  4. That’s it.

Don’t know Python?  There are plenty of books on Amazon.com.
