How to Hide the Search Button from the iOS 16 Home Screen

Starting with iOS 16, Apple added a Search button at the bottom of the Home Screen. While most users will find this useful, you may not.

So, here’s how to remove it:

1. Open the “Settings” app.
2. Go to “Home Screen”.
3. Look under the Search section and find the switch for “Show on Home Screen”.
4. Flip that to the OFF position.
5. That’s it.

Likewise, you can turn it back on by repeating the steps above.

Note: Some older iPhones may not have this feature.
