How to: Hide and Show the Menu Bar in Mac OS X 10.x

Sometimes, the menu bar (at the top of the screen) can get in the way when you’re doing something.  Fortunately, Apple has provided a way to show and hide the menu bar.  Here’s how:

  1. Open System Preferences.
  2. Click on the General Preference Area.
  3. Check the box that says “Automatically hide and show the menu bar” (as shown below).
  4. That’s it.
