How to enable “Sticky Keys” on Mac | CompuScoop.com

For those of us who can only use one key at a time, a little known accessibility feature on Macs called “Sticky Keys” can help.  It allows a user to press one key at a time to enable a function (for example, [Command + P] to print).

Here’s how:

  • Go to     > System Preferences > Accessibility.
  • Select Keyboard.
  • Click the Hardware Tab.
  • Put a checkmark next to the Enable Sticky Keys option. 
  • Now click the Options button.
  • These are additional options that you can set to enable (or disable) options for Sticky Keys.
  • Click OK to save the option(s).
  • That’s it.

Now, let’s try it.

  • Press the [Shift] key five times.
  • You’ll hear a “Click” sound.
  • The option’s enabled.
  1. Press the [Command] key, let go, now press the [P] key and let go.
  2. The print window will come up.
