Mac OS X 10.11 now has the ability to disable this feature so one doesn’t have to worry about users gaining access to an entire system. Here’s how:
- Go to Finder > Utilities > Terminal to open a Terminal Window.
- Type in the following: sudo nvram boot-args=”kext-dev-mode=1 rootless=0″;sudo reboot
- Close the Terminal window, and reboot the computer.
- Now the Root user is now disabled.
