How to check if your iPhone is ‘Unlocked’ | CompuScoop.com

If you’ve followed Apple News for sometime like we do, you know that we maybe approaching a time when the company will announce a new iPhone for the holidays. Wouldn’t it be nice to know if you could sell your current one to someone that uses another cell provider such as AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon, or if it is locked to a particular cell carrier?  Well, you can!

Here’s how:

  • Go to Settings > General.
  • Select About.
  • Scroll down until you see “Carrier Lock.”
  • If it says “NO SIM RESTRICTIONS” then your iPhone is unlocked.
  • If it says “SIM LOCKED” then your iPhone is locked to that cell carrier.
  • That’s it.
