Do you have apps that you frequently use and are tired of always going to Finder > Applications to obtain it?  You can have that app in the Dock for easy access.

There are two ways to do it.  I’ll go over both.

Option #1:

  1. Open Finder.
  2. Go to Applications.
  3. Find the app’s icon you wish to have on the Dock.
  4. Click, hold, and then move the icon from the Finder to the Dock.
  5. When you get to the Dock, let the icon go.
  6. The app’s icon should be now “pinned” to the Dock.
  7. That’s it.

Option #2:

  1. Open the app that you wish to have pinned in the Dock.
  2. With the app open, click and hold the icon that’s in the Dock.
  3. Select Options > Pin to Dock.
  4. The app is now “pinned” to the Dock.
  5. That’s it.
