When DirecTV introduced the DirecTV Now service in November of 2016, one big question was would the service ever add the popular NFL Sunday Ticket to its service.  Well, its subscribers finally got their wish last Sunday, as the company finally made their subscribers dreams come true.

Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!

NFL Sunday Ticket shows various games from around the NFL, and can include in-market and out-of-market games for an additional price of $50.00 each month for a three month period.

I tested this with a 4th generation Apple TV, and here is what I found.

In order to get NFL Sunday Ticket (NFLST herein), you must be a subscriber to either DirecTV or DirecTV Now.

Here is what you’ll need for NFLST:

1.  Sign up for the service by going to http://www.nflsundayticket.com/

2.  Download the NFLST app from the Apple TV App Store or the App Store for iOS.

3.  Sign in to your NFLST account.

After a 5 second “commercial”, you’ll be presented with a current list of games.  You can stream up to three (3) games at a time, and put each one in its own window. Just select the game you’d like to watch and double click on its window to bring it to full screen.

So, here are the pros and cons of the service:

Pros:

  • Easy sign-up on web site.
  • Easy set-up on device.
  • Can stream up to three games at once.
  • Straight-forward menu games layout.
  • Includes football games from CBS, NBC, and FOX.
  • Real-time scores and highlights on iOS app.
  • Can run on iPhone and iPad (as well as 4th gen Apple TV).
  • Supports Picture-in-Picture on iPad.

Cons:

  • Picture can sometimes look jagged and/or freeze (although not that often).
  • Lots of games were blacked out, especially after 4pm ET.
  • One game maybe available on a device, but not the other.
  • Only one device can be logged into the same account at one time.

Bottom Line:

A good service that is on the way to becoming a great service, and should improve over time.
