BACKUP, BACKUP, BACKUP!!!
Unless you already have your important documents, photos, and music backed up in the cloud – you’ll definitely need to do that before issuing any upgrades to your Windows machine.
MAKE TIME FOR THE UPGRADE:
Before preforming any updates or upgrades, you should make sure you have ample time for dedicating the computer – and your Internet connection – for the upgrade(s) to happen. Most upgrades cannot be interrupted while they are being done. Doing so may render your computer unable to boot or even corrupt files.
TEST YOUR SETUP AFTER THE UPGRADES:
After the upgrades have completed and Windows is showing the Desktop, you should take time to test out what’s new, what has changed, what runs and doesn’t, and make sure you can open ALL of your files ( i.e. documents, music, photos, etc.) If you do run into a problem, try restoring the effected file(s) with the backup(s) you made earlier.
With these simple steps, you can make sure that Tuesday’s upgrade will go as smoothly as a baby’s butt.
