Some users may experience that their Magic Keyboard may suddenly stop working on the iPad Pro and iPad Air. While no software fix is currently available for this problem, here are some workarounds to get it working again.

  1. Disconnect and then reconnect the keyboard from the device
  2. Hard reset the device – Press Volume Up, Volume Down, then press and hold Power/Lock button until you see the  Apple logo on the screen, to initiate a hard restart.
  3. Enable and then disable Active Touch – You can enable Assistive Touch through Settings app > Accessibility > Touch > Assistive Touch, and toggle it to the ON position. You’ll see a little virtual home screen button appear on screen indicating it is enabled. To disable it, simply flip the Settings switch off again.
  4. Make sure you’re running the latest iPad update – Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
  5. Contact Apple – If all of the above fails, contact Apple.
