Back in November, I got a new iMac with all of the bells and whistles I could afford. Along with it came the standard Apple Wireless keyboard and mouse.
After a few months of use, it was soon time to change the battery in the keyboard. The way to replace the batteries in the keyboard is sort of a pain in the ass, and I knew that I would have to replace them again in another 4-5 months, which can also become a pain as well.
So, I went on Apple’s web site looking for a wired keyboard, and I came across the Logitech Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard K760. What temped me was the fact that the keyboard was solar powered, and the price.
I’ve been using it for about a week, and in my opinion, it is the best investment I’ve ever made. Yes, there are some bumps in the road (which I will get to later) but all-in-all, it is a good keyboard to consider if you’re sick and tired of 1) a keyboard taking up a USB port, or 2) having to change batteries every 3-4 months.
PROS:
– Standard QWERTY keyboard.
– Standard Mac keyboard layout.
– Easy to set up with the Mac.
– Works with iPhone and iPad.
– Looks great on the desk.
CONS:
– The caps lock key can get weird. I sometimes have to press it a few times to get the right caps.
– Can wake up slowly after not using it for a while.
As you can see by the above, I don’t have many Cons to say about it.
In closing, if you’re looking for a reliable keyboard that re-charges itself with a minimal light source, then this $79.95 keyboard is for you.
