On Monday, Steven King commented on Musk’s idea on charging $20.00 a month to keep the blue checkmark next to his name.

King: “$20 a month to keep my blue check?”
Musk: “We need to pay the bills somehow! … How about $8?”

The back and forth exchange went viral with comments from followers of King and Musk chiming in.

Elon Musk is proposing that Twitter users begin paying for the valuable checkmark as a way to help “pay the bills.”
