Cremated Remains of 47 people launched into space from Florida

The Cremated remains of 47 people from five countries are set for launch from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida sometime Wednesday.

The company providing the service, Celestis, said the remains will be attached to a telecommunications satellite which is expected to be in earth’s orbit for about a decade.  Once the satellite runs out of fuel, the contents are expected to burn up on reentry.
