Walt Disney World security catches pilot illegally flying drone over Magic Kingdom

A Florida native flying a drone over Disney World last month received a trespass warning after a security guard saw the apparatus hovering about 100 feet from Cinderella's castle, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

The 40-year-old, who was not identified but said to be an experienced drone pilot, was caught by an off-duty Orange County deputy who noticed the drone flying over the park, which is still closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The incident took place May 20, the outlet shared.

He was issued a no trespassing citation and sent on his way.

Apple hires Drone and Aviation Law Specialist to Lobby in Washington, DC, USA

Ellman leads the law firm’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems practice. She also co-founded the Commercial Drone Alliance and is working to expand the commercial drone industry, according to her biography online.

Ellman worked in the Obama administration and the Justice Department earlier in her career. Ellman’s lobbying work for Apple began in December, according to a company filing that was made public this week.

The company used drones a few years ago to help it collect mapping data. In December, it met with regulators about a proposed law that would require drones to sport virtual license plates. The company also sells several drones from DJI through the Apple website and Apple retail stores. Apple has a team exploring satellites, a type of unmanned aircraft, and Ellman could assist in regulatory efforts that would need to be conducted to launch such an effort.

FBI & FAA Investigating UnIdentified Drones Appearing in 3 States Late at Night

Since just before Christmas, armies of unidentified drones have been appearing each night in the skies above Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas.  The drones are approximately 6 feet wide and they have red and white lights, but nobody knows where they are from or who owns them.

This is a story that is now receiving national attention, and the FBI, the FAA and the U.S. Air Force are all investigating this mystery.  According to eyewitnesses, these drones can move “much faster than a regular aircraft”, and that would seem to indicate that they are highly sophisticated.

So far, the U.S. military, every government agency that has been asked, and many of the major companies in the area have all denied operating the drones.  Federal, state and local law enforcement officials have been doing all that they can to solve this mystery, but so far they have come up completely empty.
