Over the past week, other Apple News web sites were reporting that it was certain that Apple would released its upcoming operating system, 10.7 Lion, on the 14th of July. One site even went so far as to post a detailed report on how to download and install Lion “when it comes out tomorrow.”
Well, it’s the 14th of July, and it’s not available.
We here at AppleScoop.com choose NOT to get into the “Lion release date frenzy” and we’re glad we did. Because we did not disappoint our readers with speculations, rumors, and report on so called sources that Apple would be releasing Lion today. Why? Unlike the other web sites, we ARE REGISTERED working Apple Developers working on apps for the Mac and iOS platforms, and didn’t get any notices to this effect. Also, even if Apple sent out notices to developers to submit their 10.7 apps to the Mac App store, what other web sites seemed to forget is after a developer submits an app, it usually takes anywhere from one to two days or even weeks for an app to make it on to the store.
While we do want to be in the top 10 web sites that you use for Apple news and information, we do not want to mislead (or hype) anything.
So, while the other sites have “egg on their faces” today, we don’t – and that’s okay by us.
