Apple to use retail outlets as Distributing Centers to speed deliveries to customers
Bloomberg is reporting that Apple will be using its retail outlets as a way to get orders to customers faster, which would be a big change from its current model – shipping from different warehouses throughout the world or directly from China.

Items that would be in stock would be sent to the customer as soon as possible, now that Apple has over 300 stores across the U.S. and Canada.
Apple told its retail stores the following:
The move to shipping from stores has been popularized by some grocery stores in recent years and has expanded to other retailers. The practice reduces costs, potentially improving product margins, and is beneficial to the environment.
Depending on the item, when a store receives an order, that store will be able to ship the item via FedEx or UPS directly to the customer, sometimes providing next-day delivery.
