Add a Message to the Login Window on Mac
Have you ever wanted to add a message to the bottom of the login window on your Mac? Something like “This computer is being watched by the NSA?” This little Terminal Hack can do it.

Here’s how:
- Open Terminal (Finder > Utilities > Terminal).
- Type the following command: sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow LoginwindowText “[Your login window message text goes here]”
- Exit out of Terminal.
- Log out, and look at the bottom of the screen!
- That’s it.
