Apple gets approval for AirPod 2’s Hearing Aid Feature

According to 9to5Mac.com, Apple has just gotten the a-okay from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to make its new AirPods 2 into a full-fledged hearing aid.  The feature was introduced during the Apple announcement last Monday.

From the FDA Press Release :

Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized the first over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aid software device, Hearing Aid Feature, intended to be used with compatible versions of the Apple AirPods Pro headphones. Once installed and customized to the user’s hearing needs, the Hearing Aid Feature enables compatible versions of the AirPods Pro to serve as an OTC hearing aid, intended to amplify sounds for individuals 18 years or older with perceived mild to moderate hearing impairment.

 

How to install the Gold Master or RC of Xcode

Now that the Gold Master (GM) or the Release Candidate (RC) version of Xcode is out, here's how to install it on your Mac.

  1. Go to https://developer.apple.com and login with your developer account.
  2. Scroll all the way down until you see "Get the latest tools and SDK" and click on it.
  3. At the top of the screen, select Applications.
  4. Find the GM (or RC) version of Xcode.
  5. Click on the included link.
  6. Xcode will begin downloading to your Mac. 
  7. When it's finished, double click on the XIP file.
  8. The file will open.
  9. Drag and Drop the Xcode icon in the Finder > Applications Folder.
  10. That's it.
