How to setup an Apple TV to use a HomePod
If you purchased a HomePod for use as a speaker with an Apple TV, setup should be straight forward. Â But this article should also give you some troubleshooting hints and tips incase something goes wrong.
Here's how:
- Make sure your Apple TV and the HomePod are ON.
- Make sure your Apple TV and HomePod are on the same WIFI NETWORK.
- On the Apple TV, go to Settings > Video and Audio >Â Audio Output.
- Select the "Select..." option.
- Select your HomePod.
- Go back one menu to save the settings.Â
- That's it.Â
If you have one HomePod, you're done. If you have more than one, repeat steps 4-5.
How to (Quickly) Convert an Existing Xcode project to work on Vision Pro
The clock is ticking for us developers to get our apps available for the Apple Vision Pro.
If you have an existing app that you want to have available on Vision Pro, but don't have the time to learn all of the ins and outs of how to make an app yet, there is a way to get your current app to the Vision Pro quickly.
Here's how:
- Open Xcode.
- Open a project you wish to make available on Vision Pro.Â
- In the project navigator, click on the name of the project at the very top.
- Click on the name of your project's Target.
- On the right, in the Destination section, click on the plus (+) sign.
- Select "Vision Pro".
- You'll have two choices -> 1) "Apple Vision" or 2) "Designed for iPad".
- The "Apple Vision" choice allows you to add Apple Vision components to an existing app.
- The "Designed for iPad" makes the app look like an iPad app within the Vision Pro environment.
- The Vision Pro Target has been added.
- That's it.Â
Apple in Talks to Land Thriller ‘The Lost Bus’ From Matthew McConaughey, Director Paul Greengrass
Apple Original Films is in talks to pick up a package for the dramatic thriller The Lost Bus that has star Matthew McConaughey and director Paul Greengrasscircling.
Brad Ingelsby (Mare of Easttown) wrote the script for The Lost Bus based on Lizzie Johnson’s 2021 fact-based book Paradise: One Town’s Struggle to Survive an American Wildfire that takes place amid California’s Camp Fire in 2018, which became the deadliest blaze in the state’s history. The film’s story follows bus driver Kevin McKay and teacher Mary Ludwig, who heroically helped lead a school bus full of students through the wildfire that devastated the town of Paradise.
The Lost Bus hails from Jamie Lee Curtis’ Comet Pictures and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse. Producers include Ingelsby and Greg Goodman, while Johnson and Amy Lord serve as executive producers.
The movie kicked off after Curtis heard Johnson on NPR and took the project to Blumhouse, where the Oscar winner has a first-look deal.
The Lost Bus marks the latest collaboration for McConaughey and Apple TV+ following the news last year that he and Woody Harrelson are set to star in a comedy series from creator David West Read for the platform.
McConaughey’s recent credits include the 2019 Guy Ritchie feature The Gentlemen and voice roles in 2021 sequel Sing 2 and last year’s Netflix animated series Agent Elvis. Greengrass is known for his work directing Matt Damon in a number of Jason Bourne films and most recently helmed the 2020 Tom Hanks vehicle News of the World.
McConaughey is represented by William Morris and Kevin Yorn, with David Krinzman handling the legal side.
Inglesby won an Emmy for creating the HBO series Mare of Easttown and has penned such films as The Way Back. He also wrote the script for the Apple Original Films feature Echo Valley that will be directed by Michael Pearce and star Julianne Moore, Sydney Sweeney and Domhnall Gleeson.
