The NFL, MLB and PGA Tour Rolls out Vision Pro Compatible Apps

According to NBC News, the MLB, NFL and PGA Tour are rolling out Vision Pro compatible apps.

For now, most of the new sports apps appear to mirror the experience of watching games on TV and using the leagues’ pre-existing apps, but there are efforts underway to create fully immersive experiences that can replicate what it’s like to be at an event.

The PGA Tour’s app is working to bring all 18 holes of the upcoming Players Championship tournament to users so they can virtually sit in the tee boxes or on the greens to watch players and track their shots.

Mike Proulx, a vice president at the research company Forrester, said sports leagues want to get ahead of the generation that eventually embraces this kind of technology.

“Leagues like the NBA and MLB who experiment now on this brand-new media canvas will leapfrog in innovation as future versions of the Vision Pro become more accessible, less cumbersome, and attract more users,” he said.

Apple is promoting its headset as a revolutionary tool especially for sports fans, touting it as offering the “best seat in the house.”

When Apple Inc. launched the iPad in 2010, the device’s premise was simple: You can get all the great iPhone features with a larger screen. And that message quickly resonated with customers, who snapped up the device to watch video, browse the web, view photos and get light work done.

But in recent years, Apple has shifted away from that formula. The iPad is now positioned as more of a Mac replacement, complete with keyboard and trackpad accessories and high-end apps like Final Cut Pro… but you can’t beat the Mac’s operating system when you need to get real work done.

That’s left the iPad in limbo. The device lost its original purpose and has become a more confusing piece of Apple’s product portfolio.

So here’s where the Vision Pro comes in. There’s been a lot of talk that the headset could be the future of the Mac or a replacement for the iPhone. I don’t think either is true. After using the $3,499 device for about a week, I believe the Vision Pro could instead cannibalize the iPad. It has the potential to provide a far better experience for the main jobs that Apple’s tablet was designed to handle. But don’t get me wrong, it’s still very early days.

This how to goes over the proper way to connect and charge the Apple Vision Pro's battery to get the maximum use out of the device. This tip comes directly from Apple's Support website.

Apple Vision Pro is powered by an external rechargeable battery that you can use for up to 2 hours of general use or 2.5 hours of video watching when fully charged, or all day when connected to power. The battery also powers Apple Vision Pro when you're not wearing it, allowing the device to sync your mail, photos, and more.

How to connect and charge the battery:

Insert the power cable into the power connector on the left Audio Strap. The power cable should be angled slightly upward, so that the dot on the power cable aligns with the white outlined dot on the Audio Strap.
Rotate the power cable clockwise one-quarter turn, so that the dot on the power cable aligns with the filled dot on the Audio Strap. When the battery is successfully connected, the light on the power cable pulses, and Apple Vision Pro turns on. After about a minute, Apple Vision Pro makes a tone that means it's ready to use, and the light on the power cable will be solid.

No, do not use isopropyl alcohol, Windex, Clorox, or similar products to clean the hard, nonporous surfaces of Apple Vision Pro. Clean your Vision Pro with a dry cloth, slightly damp cloth, or use the specific instructions outlined below.

Be sure to keep your Apple Vision Pro Polishing Cloth clean and to store your Apple Vision Pro Polishing Cloth in a clean bag. Backpacks, handbags, pockets, and other places might contain particles that could scratch your device.

How to clean your Apple Vision Pro cover glass

If the cover glass becomes smudged, wipe it with a clean, dry microfiber cloth — like your included Apple Vision Pro Polishing Cloth. Make sure to store your Apple Vision Pro Polishing Cloth in a clean bag. Backpacks, handbags, pockets, and other places might contain particles that could scratch your device.

If you can see loose particles on your cover glass, wipe with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.

You can also apply ZEISS cleaning spray to your Apple Vision Pro Polishing Cloth, then wipe your Apple Vision Pro cover glass dry.

How to clean your Apple Vision Pro displays

Place your Vision Pro inside its cover and set it on a level surface.
Wipe the optical displays with a clean, dry microfiber cloth — like your included Apple Vision Pro Polishing Cloth. Don't use any paper products.

You can also apply ZEISS cleaning spray to your Apple Vision Pro Polishing Cloth, then wipe your Apple Vision Pro displays dry.

How to clean your Light Seal Cushion, head bands, and Apple Vision Pro Cover

Use fragrance-free unscented dish soap. Don't use cleaning wipes, disinfectant wipes, or laundry detergent.

Remove your Light Seal Cushion, head band, or Apple Vision Pro Cover from the Enclosure.
In a clean container, mix 5 tsp (25 mL) of fragrance-free dish soap into two cups (500 mL) of warm water.
Place your Light Seal Cushion, head band, or Apple Vision Pro Cover in the soapy water.
Gently press and rub its surface with your hands and fingers for two minutes.
Rinse under running water and gently compress the foam to remove excess soap for 30 seconds. Repeat as needed.
Let it air dry at room temperature. Don't use until it's fully dry.

How to clean your Light Seal

Use fragrance-free unscented dish soap. Don't use cleaning wipes, disinfectant wipes, or laundry detergent.

Remove the Light Seal from the Enclosure, and remove the Light Seal Cushion from the Light Seal.
In a clean container, mix 5 tsp (25 mL) of fragrance-free dish soap into two cups (500 mL) of water.
Place a soft lint-free cloth in the soapy water.
Remove the cloth from the water and remove excess water.
Gently rub the surface of the Light Seal with the wet soapy cloth for two minutes.
Wet a second clean, lint-free cloth with fresh water and rub to remove any soap residue from the cleaned area.
Repeat as needed.
Let it air dry at room temperature. Don't use until it's fully dry.

How to clean your Apple Vision Pro Curtain

If material is stuck to the curtain around the displays, use a dry, lint-free cloth or soft bristle brush to remove the debris. You can also press non-tacky tape onto the curtain and lift it up to remove debris.

To remove a stain, use a damp cloth and gently rub on the stain. Take care not to get the displays wet.

How to clean your Audio Strap

Wipe the strap clean with a soft, lint-free cloth. If necessary, lightly dampen the cloth with fresh water, avoiding the microphone and speaker meshes. You can also use hypoallergenic soap for cleaning, avoiding the power connector, speaker mesh, head band connector, and the aluminum lid.
Clean the speaker meshes with a dry cotton swab.
Dry the strap with a soft, lint-free cloth before you attach it to the main system.
