How to find the number of CPUs a Mac has

Sometimes, users need to know the number of CPUs a Mac has for one reason or another.

Here’s how to find out:

  1. Hit [Command+Spacebar] to open Spotlight.
  2. Type “System Information” and hit return (or type “System Profiler” for earlier MacOS versions)
  3. Click “Hardware”.
  4. Find the “Total Number of Cores”.
  5. It will read something like the following: Total Number of Cores: 8 (4 performance and 4 efficiency).
  6. That’s it.

HBO MAX is now MAX – Now what?

It's been over 24 hours since HBO Max officially became just Max.  Now that the dust has settled, I will try and answer your questions about content, current membership, and other burning questions you may have.

Q: Besides the name change, what's different?
A: MAX contains content that's a combination of CNN, HBO, HGTV, Discovery, TLC, ID, and other networks that is currently under the Discovery Communications umbrella.

Q: What about my account and subscription?
A: All account and subscription information (including your
watch list) is now on MAX.

Q: Can I cancel my subscription to Discovery +?
A: No information is currently available about that.  Unless your budget calls for it, I wouldn't cancel anything until I would see something official.

Q: My app's icon still says HBO Max.
A: Go on your device's App Store and do a search for MAX.  Download the app, go into it, sign in with your HBO Max's username and password.  Then you can go ahead and delete the old HBO Max app.  If you don't see a new MAX app., continue using the current one until you see the updated app.

I hope this answers your burning questions about the differences.  If not, feel free to post your question below.
