iOS 17: How to make a Contact Poster

iOS 17 introduced a new way to let someone else know its you calling - Contact Poster.

Here's how to make one:

  1. Go to Contacts > Tap your card at the top of the screen.
  2. In the upper-right corner, tap Edit.
  3. Various choices are available for creating a poster.  Read each one and choose what's right for you.
  4. That's it.

You have a choice If you wish to share the poster automatically when someone calls in or you call someone, or you can have the phone ask if you want to share it each time.

 25 hours of Xcode Cloud now included with the Apple Developer Program

Apple has announced that starting in 2024, Xcode Cloud will be free for those developers who use the service equal too or less then 25 hours per month.

Xcode Cloud, the continuous integration and delivery service built into Xcode, accelerates the development and delivery of high-quality apps. It brings together cloud-based tools that help you build apps, run automated tests in parallel, deliver apps to testers, and view and manage user feedback.

We’re pleased to announce that as of January 2024, all Apple Developer Program memberships will include 25 compute hours per month on Xcode Cloud as a standard, with no additional cost. If you’re already subscribed to Xcode Cloud for free, no additional action is required on your part. And if you haven’t tried Xcode Cloud yet, now is the perfect time to start building your app for free in just a few minutes.

Attention Zoom users: Use your Apple TV for Zoom Meetings!

That's right!  Thanks to the recent addition of FaceTime on Apple TV, now the folks at Zoom have now made an app for the device.

All the standard Zoom features are included, including the ability to start and join Zoom meetings, calendar integration, ability to send invites, you can read the in-meeting chats, join breakout rooms, and all the other major Zoom essentials.

Requirements to use Zoom on Apple TV are fairly straightforward; you will need an Apple TV 4K 2nd generation or newer with tvOS 17 or later, and an iPhone or iPad running the latest iOS 17/iPadOS 17 or a newer release.
