Developers: Strange Xcode Error: “Errors where encountered while preparing your device for development”

This post is dedicated to anyone who develops a Mac, tvOS, or iOS app using Xcode.  Every once in a while, we come across those errors that seem to come out from nowhere.  Especially those who tend to come up right in the middle of a major project that has to be tested on an actual device.

The other day, I ran into the said error (see included graphic).  I than restarted Xcode (which didn't work), rebooted my Mac, and my iPhone, to which none of these worked.

I then went to Google and typed the above error into the search engine, and came across this post from our saving grace website called stackoverflow.com.  After reading some of the posts, I came across the below:

A simple phone restart will fix it

I have had to come back to this SO question twice in the past couple weeks. First time, I did have to update my Xcode and iOS versions, which fixed the issue. Now, the issue has returned, but there are no updates. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting my phone from my laptop, but to no avail.

What fixed it the second time was merely restarting my phone. I am curious if that would have fixed it the first time too, without needing to have updated.

I know this is just echoing the other answers here, but at the very least, I would recommend just starting with a simple phone restart and seeing if that fixes your problem. Here is the specific screenshot that I encountered, in case yours is the same (pro tip: you can open up the "Devices and Simulators" window by going to Window -> Devices and Simulators shift-command-2).

So, now you know.  :-)

  2. Go to Siri & Search
  3. Choose Siri Voice
  4. Select Voice 5 to use the non-binary gender neutral Siri voice
  5. That's it.

Here's how (Mac):

  1. From the  Apple menu choose System Preferences
  2. Go to Siri

Apple Discontinues MacOS Server

As of April 21, 2022, Apple has discontinued macOS Server. Existing macOS Server customers can continue to download and use the app with macOS Monterey.

The most popular server features — Caching Server, File Sharing Server, and Time Machine Server - are bundled with every installation of macOS High Sierra and later, so that even more customers have access to these essential services at no extra cost.

Opinion: Is Disney+ Headed for ANOTHER Price Hike?

Unless you have been living under a rock, you know the spat between the state of Florida and Disney World.  If not, here's an overview from CNN.com.

Now that the state has decided to take away Disney's special business status, what could that mean for its current online services, more importantly, Disney Plus?

At the current pricing of $7.99/Month (or $79.99/Year) it isn't a bargain by any means.  But with end users being burnt out with paying for streaming services (and the recent failure of CNN Plus) could Disney even consider hiking the price again to accommodate any future price hikes that the state of Florida may impose on the company once their Government is resolved and they have to be under Florida's rules and regulations?  The company may also use the excuse of Florida to hike the price of its online service even more than what it is now.
