How to Hide an open application window on Mac

With the upcoming Stage Manager set to debut sometime this year on MacOS, you may have to know how to hide application windows incase one shows up inside and you don't want it taking up room on the Desktop.  This is easy to do:

  1. Go to the window you wish to Hide.
  2. Make sure its the active window.
  3. Press [Command] + [H]
  4. That's it.

To unhide the window, click on its icon located in the Dock or press [Command]+[Tab] and select it.

How to watch the Artemis I Rocket Launch from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center

Unless you've been living under a rock, then you know about the Artemis I Launch that's scheduled for early today at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

This mission is as follows (source: NASA.gov):

Artemis is the first step in the next era of human exploration. Together with commercial and international partners, NASA will establish a sustainable presence on the Moon to prepare for missions to Mars.

This blog will be a source of information on Artemis launch and exploration progress, covering updates across our science, technology and human exploration programs. Once we’re ready to fly, check out this blog for launch updates and other mission operations.

Interested parties can view the launch from the Internet via the NASA.gov live page, YouTube, Space.com, or some major news outlets.  While some coverage has already started via NASA.gov and YouTube, some major news organizations may also cover the scheduled launch during a two-hour launch window which will begin at 8:33am Eastern Time on August 29th, 2022.

How to unlock your Mac with an Apple Watch

For those of you who don't know, if you have an Apple Watch, you can automatically unlock your Mac without having to know a password.  How?  Read below:

  1. Make sure that your Mac and Apple Watch meet the system requirements for Auto Unlock.
  2. Make sure your device has WiFi and Bluetooth turned ON.
  3. Your Mac and watch are signed in to iCloud.
  4. That they're using the same iCloud ID.
  5. Your Apple Watch is setup with a passcode.
  6. Choose the  (Apple Menu) > System Preferences.
  7. Select Security and Privacay.
  8. Choose "Use your Apple Watch to unlock your Mac".
  9. Follow the screens.

If you're unsure if your Mac supports this feature, you can look in the System Information window by going to: Apple Menu > System Information.  Select the WiFi sidebar, then look for "Auto Unlock Supported" on the right side pane (see below):
