iOS 16: How to UNSEND a text in Messages on iPhone

We've all been there. We texted something to a friend and wished we hadn't. Now iOS 16 gives you the ability to actually unsend a message to someone who also has iOS 16 installed.  You can unsend the message in the first 15 minutes after you've originally sent it.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the message that you wish to unsend.
  2. Tap and hold the message bubble.
  3. A drop down menu appears.
  4. Tap "Undo Send."
  5. The message will unsend itself and delete from the receiver's phone.
  6. That's it.

As far as we can tell, iOS is the only one that offers this unique feature.

Apple cutting iPhone 14 Production as Pro Models Prove to be more popular

According to various sources familiar with the matter, Apple is cutting iPhone 14 production due to the company seeing that its Pro Models are more popular (and profitable).  One of the reports says:

As a result, DigiTimes‘ sources indicated that total shipments of the ‌iPhone 14‌ Plus will likely be revised downward to around 10 million units for 2022.

Regardless, the iPhone 14 Pro models are proving to be what the consumer wants and needs at this time.

Winter is coming. Save your nose and your electronics!

Winter is coming here in the U.S.  That means colder and dryer days are ahead.  That also means the rise of static electricity.

Static Electricity is caused by dry air when the temperature outside gets below 40 degrees above zero.  Besides having to deal with the cold, now one has to worry about accidentally blowing out electronics because of touching them when the static is in the air. This may actually cause a brief minor electrical shock going from your body to the electronic, then, in turn, may cause one to accidentally shot something out rendering the electronic that one touched useless (believe me, I know!)

Yes, you can purchase anti-static mats and even wear one if you fix or even work on computers and/or electronics.  But that could get expensive and even make your work area look like a war zone (as mine does!).

You can do yourself and others a favor and get a Humidifier for your home and/or office.  Having one of these can not only save your electronics, but also help with your allergies as the moist air can help with breathing issues and more.

Humidifiers can be purchased at local retail stores or at Amazon.com for an affordable price.  I always try and look for a top-filling one to make it easier to fill, maintain, and clean.

The NEW Apple TV: 10 Changes to the newest Model

On Tuesday, Apple introduced a new Apple TV 4K for the living room.  For those who are wondering the differences, you can read them below (via MacRumors.com):

  • A15 Bionic chip: The new Apple TV is equipped with the A15 Bionic chip for up to 50% faster performance than the previous model with the A12 Bionic chip. Apple says this results in improved responsiveness and faster navigation. Apple adds that graphics performance is up to 30% faster for smoother gaming.
  • 4GB of RAM: The new Apple TV is equipped with 4GB of RAM, compared to 3GB in the previous model, for improved responsiveness.
  • 128GB storage option: The new Apple TV is available with up to 128GB of storage, compared to a max of 64GB for the previous model.
  • HDR10+ support: In addition to Dolby Vision, the new Apple TV now supports HDR10+ content in supported apps.
  • Siri Remote with USB-C port: The new Siri Remote is equipped with a USB-C portinstead of Lightning for charging.
  • Thinner and lighter design: Apple says the A15 Bionic chip's increased power efficiency allowed for the internal fan to be removed in the new Apple TV, resulting in the device having a more compact design that is around 12% thinner and around 50% lighter than the previous model.
  • No more "TV" branding on top: The new Apple TV no longer has "TV" imprinted on the top of the device and instead simply has a centered Apple logo.
  • Lower pricing: The new Apple TV starts at $129 with 64GB of storage, while the previous model started at $179 with 32GB of storage. While you need to spend $149 to get an Ethernet port, Thread support, and 128GB of storage, that's still cheaper than any of last year's models.
  • No charging cable in the box: The new Apple TV ships without a charging cable in the box for the Siri Remote, except in Brazil. Apple sells a new woven USB-C cable separately for $19.
  • Packaging changes: The new Apple TV comes in a slightly more rectangular box that no longer has outer plastic wrap.
