Apple TV+ begins filming second season of global hit series ‘Severance’ as eight new stars join cast

Apple TV+ today announced that principal photography is officially under way for the second season of its Emmy Award-winning and globally celebrated workplace thriller “Severance,” from creator and writer Dan Erickson and director and executive producer Ben Stiller, and produced by Fifth Season.

“We are thrilled and delighted to be back on set for the exciting second chapter of ‘Severance,’” said “Severance” director and executive producer Ben Stiller. “Though we don’t know how long we’ve been gone or who we are outside, we are told people enjoy the show and we couldn’t be happier. Praise Kier!”

The highly anticipated second season will reunite its ensemble cast of stars including Emmy Award nominee Adam Scott, Academy and Emmy Award winner Patricia Arquette, Emmy Award winner John Turturro, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman, Michael Chernus and Academy Award-winner Christopher Walken. Season two will also expand its cast with eight new stars:

• Oscar and Emmy Award nominee Bob Balaban (“The Chair,” “The Politician,” “The French Dispatch,” “Isle of Dogs”)

• Robby Benson (“Beauty and The Beast,” “One on One”)

• Stefano Carannante (“Mirabilia”)

• Emmy Award nominee Gwendoline Christie (“Game of Thrones,” “The Sandman,” “Wednesday”)

• John Noble (“Fringe,” “Elementary,” “The Lord of the Rings” films)

• Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (“The Tourist,” “Trapped,” “The Missing”)

• Alia Shawkat (“Search Party,” “Being the Ricardos,” “The Old Man”)

• Emmy Award winner Merritt Wever (“Godless,” “Unbelievable,” “Nurse Jackie”)

Since the season one premiere of “Severance” earlier this year, the series has continued to receive broad acclaim, as well as spark global conversations. The freshman season landed 14 Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, and took home awards for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series and Outstanding Main Title Design.

In “Severance,” Mark Scout (Adam Scott) leads a team at Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure, which surgically divides their memories between their work and personal lives. This daring experiment in “work-life balance” is called into question as Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that will force him to confront the true nature of his work … and of himself.

“Severance” is written and created by Dan Erickson. Ben Stiller directs and serves as executive producer alongside Erickson, Nicky Weinstock, Jackie Cohn, Mark Friedman and Adam Scott. Richie Schwartz executive produces for Red Hour Films. In addition to starring, Patricia Arquette serves as producer for season two. Fifth Season is the studio.

The complete first season of “Severance” is now streaming on Apple TV+.

Apple’s online store and information systems chiefs to exit company

Apple’s top executives in charge of its online retail store and information-systems divisions are exiting the company, Bloomberg News reports, citing “people with knowledge of the matter.”

Anna Matthiasson, the vice president of online retail, is leaving her position, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the changes aren’t yet public. Chief Information Officer Mary Demby, meanwhile, is retiring after three decades, they said.

The departures mean Apple is losing at least three vice presidents — the highest manager level below Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook’s executive team — in recent weeks. Evans Hankey, Apple’s vice president in charge of industrial design, is also leaving the company, Bloomberg News reported earlier this month. Chief Privacy Officer Jane Horvath has departed Apple in recent weeks as well, taking a position at a law firm.

Apple redesigned its online store in 2021. The division will now be overseen by Karen Rasmussen, who served as a senior director in charge of digital experience and e-commerce before her current role.

Gentleman: Beware of Twitter and other social media platforms

The following article can be used as proof for your significant other that what they may see on Twitter on one of your devices may NOT be for you!

I use Twitter for business and other communications. Over the past year, I have been getting followers from the adult industry that I did not ask for.  While some are just following me, others can (and will) actually contact me with some sexual content and/or make it look like I'm having relations with this person (which I'm NOT).  I've been happily committed to one women since 1987, and plan on spending the rest of my life with her.

So ladies, if you see some questionable communications from Twitter or another social media platform, please do not jump to conclusions.

iOS 16.1: 7 Useful Tips and Tricks for the iPad

Now that you've updated that iPad to iOS 16, you're probably wondering what's new and useful.  This article hopes to help with that and more.

  1. Stage Manager: Another way to multitask has come to the iPad in the way of Stage Manager.  You can enable it in Command Center.  Stage Manger shows any running apps on the side of the window, while the current app appears in the middle.  Personally, I find this useful, especially with large projects.
  2. Weather App: Like the iPhone, a weather app has finally come to the iPad, which shows the current weather for your and user-selected locations.
  3. Expanded Files App: The files app has gotten a lot of upgrades and enhancements.  It allows you to short columns, rename files, view images, and more.
  4. Scheduling emails: Now you can schedule when an email is sent.
  5. Undo sending an email: You have up to 10 seconds to unsend an email to someone after you sent it.
  6. Edit sent Messages (text): iOS 16 users can now edit a sent message up to 10 seconds after one sends it.
  7. Unsend a Message (text): iOS 16 users can unsend a sent message up to 10 seconds after one sends it.
