For a video, you can then use iMovie to convert it to the necessary format.

How to use Siri to find local restaurants and more

You'd be surprised at how many people don't know how to use Siri when they are on vacation or even a business trip.  Apple is always working and expanding on Siri to make it more useful so users can intergrade it into their daily lives.

One of the powerful features is the ability for it to find local resources for you.  No matter if its to find a local place to eat, or the nearest pharmacy.

Here are some tips and tricks to make Siri work for you during the day.  Just activate Siri and say (or type) the below:

Find local places to eat:

  • "Hey Siri, find local Italian restaurants."

Find nearest hospitals:

  • "Hey Siri, find me the nearest hospital."

Find the nearest gas stations:

  • "Hey Siri, find me the nearest gas station."

Want to know the weather for your location or somewhere else?

  • "Hey Siri, what's the weather for my location?"
  • "Hey Siri, what's the weather for Miami Florida?"

You can also have it call a local establishment for you after Siri finds it:

  • "Hey Siri, call Joe's Pizza."

Want to call home:

  • "Hey Siri, call home."

You can do more with Siri beyond this list.  As you can see, Siri is getting more useful everyday - try it sometime.

Disney-owned TV Networks go dark on Sling TV and DISH

Here we go again, folks.  For those of you who notice when you turned on your DISH or Sling TV and you did not see Disney owned networks such as ABC, ESPN and others, the services are in a carrier dispute with Disney.

DISH, Sling TV, and Disney are pointing the finger at each other.  DISH is claiming that Disney wants one billion more in revenue from both services in order to carrier the company's content.  DISH offered Disney an extension, but Disney then rejected the proposal and walked away from the negotiating table.

DISH offered a statement on their web site which states:

"We were not able to reach a mutual renewal agreement with Disney and without a contract in place we are legally required to remove their channels from our service,"

Here is an official video statement from DISH Network:
