How to show your iPad’s screen on a TV using Apple TV and Airplay
Airplay is a unique way to show your iPad's screen on a television or other comparable devices. Â It's simple to setup and use.
In order for this to work, you'll have to have the following:
- An iPad with iOS 13 or later.
- Apple TV, Google Chrome, Roku, or another compatible device.
You must have the TV and the compatible device on. Â For this how to, we'll be using an Apple TV. Â But the directions should be almost the same for other devices.
Here's what to do:
- Make sure your iPad, Apple TV, and TV are ON.
- Make sure the Apple TV menu is showing on your TV.
- Activate the iPad and go to the Home Screen.
- Pull down Command Center from the top-right of the screen.
- Look for the button that says "Screen Mirroring" or the AirPlay icon (see featured image included with this article).
- Tap it.
- If this is the first time you're doing this, an special 4 digit code will show on the TV.
- Type the code into your iPad when asked.
- After a few seconds, your iPad's screen should be showing on your TV.
- If not, shut everything off, wait 30 seconds, then repeat the above steps.
- To disable Airplay and go back to normal Apple TV viewing, do steps #4 and #5.
