Apple document reveals full Apple Watch Series 7 specifications

The comparison document which Apple has not shared with customers shows that the watch has a new S7 system in package, but maintains the same CPU and speeds as the S6 chip from the Series 6.

Last night, developer Stephen Troughton-Smith discovered that the Apple Watch Series 7 has the exact same CPU as the Apple Watch Series 6, and this document corroborates that detail. What is different is simply the branding — something Apple isn’t pushing much.

Apple is calling the new SiP in Series 7, the S7 chip. While the CPU remains the same, it’s likely some other small components have in fact changed to accommodate the larger display.

Other details like the weight of each model are also included in the documentation. Apple has not revealed this information on apple.com yet.

Apple CEO Tim Cook named to TIME’s list of ‘100 Most Influential People of 2021’

Apple CEO Tim Cook is one of the 100 Most Influential People of 2021 according to TIME’s newly published rankings.

In 2005, when we first talked to Tim Cook about becoming a member of the Nike board, we were hoping to add a good decisionmaker to the team. Within a short time, he proved himself to be a man of excellent judgment, able to think tactically and strategically in an industry far different from his own. He also offered the most valuable attribute of any leader in any field: wisdom.

Outside of our work together, I have known Tim as both a friend and as a rival college-football fan. (The tally since Tim joined Nike’s board: Auburn 2 wins, Oregon 0. So far.) Virtually all leaders of large organizations today have high IQs. What separates the good from the great are intangibles such as character, compassion, courage—adjectives that apply to Tim.

One of his most difficult challenges was the change of leadership at Apple after Steve Jobs passed away, the Steve Jobs who was beloved and recognized around the world as a genius.

This almost impossible transition was handled with amazing dignity and grace, and announced to the world in his own quiet way: “I am not the second Steve Jobs. I am the first Tim Cook.”

And by the way, in the 10 years since… Apple stock has gone up 1,000%, making it the most valuable company in the world.

Apple Watch Series 7 available in 41mm and 45mm case sizes; compatible with existing bands

With the full details on the Apple Watch Series 7 not yet released by Apple (as it’s not set to launch until later this fall), the new official Apple Watch bandsconfirm that the Series 7 will be available in 41mm and 45mm sizes.

The 41mm ‌Apple Watch Series 7‌ replaces the 40mm Apple Watch Series 6, while the 45mm ‌Apple Watch Series 7‌ replaces the 44mm Apple Watch Series 6.

The new Apple Watch models have an edge-to-edge display with super slim bezels, best illustrated in Apple’s image comparison of the Series 7, Series 6, and Series 3 [above].

Despite the increase in size to 41 and 45mm, the ‌Apple Watch Series 7‌ is compatible with older Apple Watch bands. Existing 38mm and 40mm bands should be compatible with the 41mm ‌Apple Watch Series 7‌, and the 42mm and 44mm Apple Watch bands should be compatible with the 45mm Apple Watch.
