Apple’s HomePod Mini can now be powered by 18W adapters and battery packs for portable usage

The HomePod mini now works with Apple’s own 18W USB-C power adapter and select third-party 18W power adapters from brands like Aukey. One user was even able to power the HomePod mini with an 18W battery pack from Cygnett, allowing for portable use.

Previously, when attempting to use the HomePod mini with a power adapter rated below 20W, the speaker would simply display an orange light and not function. This may still be the case with certain 18W power adapters, as certain power profiles may be required.

Apple includes a 20W power adapter with the HomePod mini, but many customers may have an 18W power adapter from an iPhone 11 Pro or other device.

Buying a M1 Mac mini? What you need to know

Even though most computer geeks know this, you'd be surprised at how many non-geeky people do not know about one very important fact about purchasing a Mac mini....

The device does NOT come with a keyboard, mouse, or a monitor.

You may also need a monitor adapter that goes from the monitor to the back of the Mac mini.  Unfortunately, there's more than one type, and the one you'd purchase is the one that'll fit the monitor's port.

So, for those of you who didn't know this, here are some suggestions for you (thanks to our friends at Amazon.com).

Except for keyboards, virtually any monitor or mouse would work, as long as it has Firewire or a USB connection.

In closing, now that you know this, you can rest assured that once your new computer comes, you'll be all set.

Having problems activating that new Apple device? You’re not alone

Apple's status page has been showing an ongoing issue with "iCloud Account and Sign In" since early Christmas morning.

The issue is likely caused by an overload of people trying to activate their devices due to the holidays.

We contacted Apple, and they recommend that users keep trying until they get through, and the problem is caused by an overload on their systems from a lot of people trying to activate their devices at once, and apologize for any problems that this may cause.
