OOPS! New Apple Products appear in Target’s inventory system

Listings for new Apple Watch bands, a new Apple TV set top box, and an updated iPod Touch are appearing in Target inventory scanners.

This story first appeared on Saturday via 9to5Mac.com when someone claimed to be a Target employee and sent the below screen shot to the website as proof to his or her claims.

While it is typical for Apple to update the bands for the Apple Watch, it's very unusual for the company to come out with new iPods, especially since they just updated the product line at the end of last year.

Apple Maps’ Look Around feature arrives in Boston, Philadelphia, PA, and Washington D.C.

Apple has rolled out its “Look Around” feature of Apple Maps into three more U.S. cities, giving users the ability to see street level views of Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. on their iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Introduced in iOS 13, Look Around is an interactive way to visually explore a city with 3D street-level imagery, similar to Google Street View. The feature is also available in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, New York City, Las Vegas, Houston, and the Hawaiian island of Oahu, with many more places to come.

In an area where Look Around is available, a binoculars icon will appear in the top-right corner of Apple Maps. Tapping that icon opens a street-level view in a card overlay at the top of the screen. Look Around also appears in the search results for a supported city, below the Flyover and Directions buttons.

When you’re in Look Around mode, tapping on the display lets you move through the area, while tapping in a far off spot in the distance zooms in quickly in a smoother and more immersive way than Google Street View.

Apple fights against publication of ‘App Store Confidential’ book

Until late last year, Sadowski was the head of Apple App Store in Germany. After his book was published in Germany this week, Apple wrote to Hamburg publishers Murmann Verlag demanding a halt to sales and a recall of copies already sold, according to extracts of a letter shared with Reuters by Murmann’s lawyer Ralph Oliver Graef.

“The operation of the App Store encompasses a multitude of business secrets,” the iPhone maker said in its letter.

Yet, apart from a brief account of a visit by CEO Tim Cook to Berlin and tips on how app developers should pitch their wares to Apple, the book betrays few – if any – details over how the $1.4 trillion U.S. company does business.

Murmann said a first print run of 4,000 copies was selling well and, rather than pulling the book, it was rushing out a second print run. “It’s No. 2 on the Amazon best-seller list in Germany – everyone is talking about it,” said Peter Felixberger, an executive at Murmann. Apple, meanwhile, has not yet sought a court injunction on sales of the book. “It looks like Apple has gone a bit far tactically, building up pressure and issuing threats but then lacking the courage actually to go to court,” Graef said.

Apple said it had fired Sadowski for writing the book, although Sadowski said he left Apple last November and that his plans to publish the book only became known in December.
